NEW YORK – Aug. 22, 2007 – The Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE) announced today John Serri, senior solutions architect of Manhattan Software, will assume the position of Chair of the Facilities Management (FM) Workgroup. OSCRE’s mission is to develop, synthesize, and adopt e-business standards that enable the real estate industry to function effectively and efficiently in the new economy. The FM Workgroup is one of ten teams of volunteers to create these standards for the international real estate community.

The Facilities Management Workgroup’s mission is to standardize and automate the service request and work order management process for ‘trading partners,’ such as employees, FM teams and service providers. “The benefit of this standard is to reduce the cost and time it takes to develop and support the request and fulfillment process, allowing direct interoperability between different partners across different user platforms and reduce the time to migrate data and increase reliability,” said John Serri, senior solutions architect of Manhattan Software. “This is a critical component to our customers as they seek to unlock competitive advantages when they implement the Manhattan Integrated Workplace Management Solution.”

A demonstration of how this standard actually facilitates seamless workplace operations will be profiled in an OSCRE session during CoreNet Global’s Summit in Atlanta October 2007.
